a crazy thing about birds is that the Louisiana waterthrush, a bird that migrates thousands of miles from central America to the American northeast in spring, can be found in the exact same forest next to the exact same Pennsylvania village in the exact same puddle in the banks of the exact same stream at the exact same time of year every single year and I just have to show up then and there to watch it dance and catch insects and marvel at the magic of life
