there’s a massive unsolicited bull thistle growing in the middle of our yard. bull thistles are non-native invasive weeds. however I’m letting this one grow because one, I like how they look baby, very shagadelic and two, the native goldfinches love to eat the seeds and also use the down for their late season nests. also, bull thistles are biennial which means they only flower once every two years which makes them kind of special, like an election.
